I have a 1994 Honda civic that is having a starting issues.
First lets start with a little background on the car and the issue.I have had the car for a little over sixth months now and since the day I bought it it has started great every time no problem(I live in Wisconsin so I was starting it in -20 degree weather). A few days ago after I got done with work when I went to start my car nothing happened. Car didn't make any noise or turn ever the slightest and all the lights worked(dash, radio and headlights). The starter didn't click at all and the battery terminals looked clean. I pop started it and drove home.
When I got home I shut the car off and turned the key again and it started fine, then the next morning I tried again and it started fine again. I am a very busy person and don't have great knowledge or tools to do my own own repairs so I took my car to my local mechanic(don't hate). Told him about the issue and he said he will take a look but can't diagnosis until the same problem occurs again. After two days of him starting it periodically it has started fine every time.

Anyway looking for ideas or little tests that I can do to maybe find the issue. It is a great car I have never ever had starting issues in the past.

Are there any visible differences in the light intensity output on the dash, radio and headlights when you're trying to start it?

if the car doesn't turn over when you turn the keys, but does so when you pop start it.....IT'S THE BATTERY. Don't waste your time assuming. Get a new battery and a good MULTIMETER from Home Depot or Lowes. IT's a very handy tool when it comes to troubleshooting electrical issues.

Took it to my shop when it was acting up and ends up that one of the connects to the starter was lose. Not a big deal and it works great now.
