i know i can find the tachwire at the coil but would rather get it from inside of the car. i looked at the ecu pinouts and couldn't find it. any info would be appreciated.

you best bet is to catch it in the drivers side engine bay. its very close to the firewall (top plug you see when opening the hood), and is the only blue wire in the group...i think the wire changes color after that, but im sure you could trace it out...

the one in my 92 si is blue....on the car side of the engine harness...on my old ex i thought it was blue as well...

pull your cluster out and look on the plugs its the light blue wite typically with a light silver stripe on it thats your tach wire you can jump it from right there

i found the pinout at the ecu...its at a21 and is red/green...just another option
