94 civic ex issue accelerating
hey all, I was driving yesterday and noticed that I would have to start giving it alittle more gas then normal to get up to speed. Well today I was driving and as soon as I get up to about 2-3000 rpm i really have to start giving it gas to speed up almost like the clutch is slipping but the rpm's don't shoot up and my exhaust just instantly gets quiet like somethings jammed in exhaust or it's closed off. normaly the car sounds like it has a fart can on it but it goes instaltly quite to the point where i can't hear anything other then the motor sounding like being choked off by something.
The muffler removed so it should not be that quite, its still got a cat in it but its just a pipe from the cat back with a tip on it. the engine runs fun, and it drove fine up until now. feels like i have a restriction either in the exhaust or in the intake tube for the filter. only thing i could think of is if i have something lodged in the muffler some how or water ran down the tip and froze inside the middle of the exhaust but it also did it after the car was running and warm. I was also think possibly needing a new clutch? i don't wanna rip it apart and put a new one into to find out that clutch isn't the problem. and help would be greatly appreciated!! I am doing research but i wouldn't even know where to begin searching just going based off of the things its done. Its a bone stock d16z6 stock exhaust except the removed muffler and a new air filter. I'm sure this is a noob question but i've never encountered anything like it. seems to be that as soon as I fix something, something else has to be wrong lol

Do you smell an egg fart smell? Usually means your cat is going south and plugged. How about removing the cat/pipe temporarily and seeing if it runs better, it will be loud but if it clears up the problem its your cat...

I'm for sure going to try removing the cat and see what happens. I would assume if i by pass the cat with a test pipe and reconnect my exhaust that its gonna be really loud still? or atleast alot louder then it was with only a cat?
