94 civic ex - hunting idle, smoking, and overheating
Hey guys, I did a tune up on the car and drove it fine the whole day then coming home from work it started to idle from 800 to 1500 rpms when not in gear. Then the car started to smoke... I changed out the spark plugs again to see if that could of been the issue... but i dont know what it could be... im looking into the hoses now... could use some useful tips and where to look. Thanks

Re: 94 civic ex
All i did was a oil change and replaced the spark plugs. I had a check engine light and it cut off a few hours later and i haven't seen it since. i got the idling figured out, my cold air intake filter was cracked and was letting more air inside thru the throttle body. Also i forgot to put this in the post earlier but my car is overheating too... so would i need a new water pump?

White smoke means coolant could be burning. It may be the head gasket. Just something to keep in mind. Where is the smoke coming from?

i would do a scan your check engine bulb might have just fried happen to me had no idea till one day starting it up and i saw it wasnt coming on the power on test . All these symptoms sound to me of a head gasket issue check your timing belt usually the age of the belt tells you the age of the pump ***usually****.

the white smoke was coming from the engine bay im not sure where exactly where the smoke is coming from... the timing belt is fine but could be changed out.

well i figured out the problem and it was the hose, had a puncture in it and the clamp was broken off. I replaced the clamp and the hose and flushed the coolant and replaced it and my civic is back in action.
