Default 94 Civic DX w/B16A swap: COLD AIR INTAKE VS AIR INTAKE

I have a 1994 Honda Civic DX Coupe with a B16A swap done. I live in Pennsylvania and this car will be my daily driver throughout the entire year (rain, snow, etc.). I'm interested in upgrading the air intake and am curious if I should go with a cold air intake or just a coned air intake (short ram). I'd rather go with the cold air intake because they obviously deliver more bang for your buck but what about the possibility of running through puddles? I don't want to suck up any water, snow, etc. Also - I recently found out that there are no inner fender walls. Nice surprise. ;[ Thanks in advance...

im right up the road from you and i have both intakes for the simple fact that come winter i dont wanna be sucking up all the water we get from snow runoff that manages to make huge puddles everywhere and half the time you cant see it cause there is snow underneath. in the rain i just avoid puddles.

the ony way u will hydrolock your motor is you fully submerge your filter. with that said, if u get an aem cold air and get the bypass valve u wont have to worry about hydrolocking.

or get a 2 piece intake and for the winter only use the top piece. then come spring put it back on with a bypass valve.

and by the way i have a fujita cai and i love it

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm gonna go for the 2-piece cold air intake with a bypass valve. Thanks for the bypass valve info - I forgot about that.
