94 civic d16y7 no power help me!!!!

Default 94 civic d16y7 no power help me!!!!

Hello ht I need your help I have a
1994 civic coupe
D16y7

Problems
Car idles perfectly but once it's warm I take it around the block and it has no powere when I punch it and also has no powere when going up hills when I pull the throttle cable it sounds like its ether sucking in too much air or not enough and when I just lightly push the gas it drives fine!? Help!?

It sounds like something is obstructing your throttle body, check your air intake, filter, and throttle body.

id start to check with fuel pressure and flow, when was the last time you changed your fuel filter? could be plugged?... fuel pump taking a crap, maybe coils arking under load, check cap rotor, all the basic tuneup crap

Thanks for the fast reply. The fule filter and pump were changed yesterday same with injectors and still no luck I will check the TB in a little bit any ideas wht els it could be..?

I just advanced the timing and it made a huge difference it got a lot better but u can still feel the mother is like not giving all its power like its holding it back

well im glad to hear it starts to run better, maybe check spark plug gap? if they are undergapped then your not burning all the fuel you need and advancing the timing would allowing a little bit of a longer burn time...idk. how many miles on the thing?

I'll be checking gap today. And not sure on miles motor was just put in by my brother and the guy we got it from said there's like 140000 I think but who knows. Lol

checked the gap changed the map sensor changed the dizzy and it runs good now but you can still feel its still slow idk if maybe I'm just used to my turbo b18 or if this thing is still sluggish

Just verify the timing. And you have a Y7. They are painfully slow. Especially up hills.

Whats the dizzy I must know as im having samenproblems with the one I just bought tonight....im getting new plugs wired xap and rotor tomorrow along with fuel filter and doing an oilchange and ill do the map sensor too andnhow can I make this engine a vtec??

Distributor. It really helps to list your year, make, model, ecu and any other info like is the check engine light on, have you done a tune up, etc. For VTEC search for "mini me".

I would start a new thread next time instead of bumping an old thread, thread title should contain important information not just "HELP PLEASE". Also every thread you start should have vehicle and engine information, "94 civic, maual, d16y7.....etc"
