Default 94 Civic CX/d15b7/p06 ecu - cel code 7

So my car just got a cel code 7. I got a new tps and the problem still persists. The car was bogging so I unplugged the tps and it still bogged. Is the problem my ecu? Thanks.

Test the three TPS wires. Does the TPS plug get 5 reference volts from the ECU with the key in ON(II)?

What car???

Which TPS wire did you test for voltage?

It's a 1994 Honda Civic CX with a d15b7 and p06 ecu. I tested the red wire in the middle.

Do you mean Red/Blu wire? You need to measure voltage on the Yel/Wht wire.

How did you do the voltage test? Was the key in ON(II)? What did you use as ground in the test?

Yes sorry the Red/Blue. And I turned the car on and back probed the wire and put the ground on the negative side of the battery, yes the car was on.

Unplug the TPS connector and turn key to ON(II) [engine not running]. Compare voltage on the TPS Yel/Wht wire when using the TPS Grn/Wht wire versus (-) battery post as ground.

Using either ground?

Test 2:
Reconnect the TPS plug and turn key to ON(II) [engine not running]. Backprobe the TPS Red/Blu wire (+) and the TPS Grn/Wht wire (-). What voltage do you read?

I tried that once, prior to this and it wouldn't read anything.

Try again to verify. Make sure you are making good contact with both wires.

Unplug the TPS connector and turn key OFF. Check for continuity to body ground at the Red/Blu wire terminal in the TPS connector.

Your test results point either to a bad TPS plug, bad TPS, or bad connection between the Red/Blu wire pin in the plug and corresponding contact point with the TPS.

Start here:
Unplug the TPS connector and turn the key off. Measure continuity/resistance between the Red/Blu wire pin in the front of the connector and some point in the Red/Blue wire behind the connector (pierce through wire insulation). Is there continuity?

You needed to test for continuity to body ground. Is that what you did? Testing for continuity is different.

By hooking up the ground to anything on the body correct?
