94 civic 3 cylinders fire unless i rev. hard.
hey guys been MIA for a while. but I've come back to my Honda. I have an issue. the engine starts every time. however, generally only 3 cylinders are firing unless rev really high, then all start firing.. any idea what might be the cause of this problem?

been a while since I tuned up. however plug wire and spark plugs have less than 10k miles. cap/rotor are original. haven't pin pointed what cylinder isn't firing. Engine is a d15b

Re: 94 civic 3 cylinders fire unless i rev. hard.
ok guys, I replace the distributor today. I noted the car started very well. however I'm still having the similar sounding problem. almost a sputter and low power.
I've gotta CEL however I'm unable to pull the code by shorting out the plug used to pull codes..
the car sat for about a 6 month. my last attempt to pull codes was successful. however now when attempting the CEL stays solid and the SRS light flashes continuously.
I"ve done nothing to the Air bags ever and the only other diagnosis I've done since is shorting the Rad fan switch to test the fan.
I fear the worst. I've done some light research on the SRS flashing while attempting to pull codes and have been unsuccessful in finding a solution

"You should do a tune up"
"OK, I replaced the distributor"
I swear, it's like we're talking to a brick wall around here half the time. A tune up means cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and fuel filter. A good tune up also means checking your ignition timing. I also mentioned doing a compression test. Since you're having trouble with the SRS and CEL lights, I'm gonna give you a couple more to do. Get your multimeter ready.
So here's a list of things for you to do. Do all of them, and come back to us with results.
1 - replace your cap and rotor with OEM hardware
2 - replace your wires with OEM (or NGK, the OEM manufacturer)
3 - replace your spark plugs with OEM (or NGK, the OEM manufacturer)
4 - do a compression test. Give us the results for all four cylinders
5 - Check and adjust your ignition timing
6 - Check ALL fuses, both under hood and under dash, for continuity
6 easy tasks. Now hop to.
