94 to 96 tranny question. Please help if you can.
Okay, I'm looking to buy a used tranny from a member on this board. I drive a 94 DX with manual tranny and I need a new tranny. My car currently has 135,XXX miles on it.
I may be buying a used 96 DX manual tranny (from jdmcivicek with 55k miles as I'm told.) Question is:
What exactly needs to be done to get the 96 tranny to work with my car? Do you just bolt up and its ready to go or do I have to have anything else changed or replaced? Such as clutch, electricals or any of that sort? I'm on a tight budget and I just want something that will work without costing an arm and a leg.
I've searched but all I get is that EX/Si tranny is better and that all D series trannys are interchangeable. I just want to know for sure what needs to be done to get it to work.
I am looking to buy and he is looking to sell, so any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

If you're getting this professionally done, that's pretty much all you need to know.

I just don't want to take it to the shop and have to buy other things because I have no money. If its going to cost me more than just a used tranny, then I might not be able to afford that right now. Thats why I want to know before I go.

the trans will bolt right in, only one bolt for the clutch cover will be a issue, but it is nothign major.
The MAJOR thing is the 96 DX tranny from a HB (3.722 FD) or a Coupe/Sedan (4.058 FD)??????
Your 94 DX has a 4.058 FD, run away from the DX HB Trannys.

I was under the impression that all DX trannys were the same.
Thanks for the info.
