Default 93Del Sol Camber Kit and others

I recently got a sweet del Sol for a good price. I'm not going to swap of modify the engine. I'm more interested in the appearance. It's a daily driver and I take it 250 miles weekly trips.

I've done lots of searching on line but I haven't found solid answers. A lot of what I do find is topics from this website. With answers on here..

If someone could lend me some suggestions and part costs, websites for parts etc..

I've found a Strut/Shock Spring set with Camber Kit for 300$ which would greatly improve the overall ride of the del Sol. Then a new set of rims and a nice paint job. Tinted windows etc. Making it a sleek ride (: lol

Sorry if I sound like a dweeb or turd. Just a new Civic owner and proud to drive a del Sol.

Your post seems entirely value-oriented. We have a sticky for that.

That being said, you could redeem your post by telling us exactly what's in this $300 set. It's a safe bet, though, that anything with that small of a price tag will only make your ride worse, and won't last long to boot.

Value thread
Otherwise, no-name shocks with no name parts, but at your own risk, some people will tell you otherwise.

Check my sig for the FAQ links, most of your benign questions can be solved there.

Typical civic owner see's cheap **** and thinks it's good, no that stuff is junk my front camber kit alone cost more then all that stuff. For just the suspension(coilover set up) you'll be looking at minimum 800$ and even then all you can really get is F/F BWR/MEGAN stuff that's just a bit better then what you're looking at.

Honestly I really need the benefits of a Camber Kit and I don't want something performance. I'm looking for a upgrade from the original.. I read the sticky and the cheapest suspension kit is I think 800? So to quote the last guy. Yes, cheap parts look good because I'm not experienced with Civics and their upgrades.

Camber kits let you get your camber back to where it belongs when lowering the car. Some people use them (incorrectly) to "tuck" their tires. No way in hell I would trust a cheap camber kit - if it goes, best case scenario your alignment gets all fucked up. Worst case scenario, the ball joint pops out, or the A arm breaks while you're driving at 70 MPH down the highway, and your car does a few flips through the median.

Side note: Camber doesn't kill tires*, toe does. When lowering, you should ALWAYS get an alignment to properly set your toe. That said, most tire shops will use your camber as an excuse to not warranty worn tires.

* - Camber within normal ranges. If you go Bosozoku style on your camber, even with perfectly zeroed toe, you'll still chew the **** out of your tires.

take these people's advice. Spend more on your suspension, and buy quality parts. You'll regret it after a few months when you need to replace you mad tyte jdm ebay parts. I spent $1600 on my suspension alone, and that's not even top end stuff yet. If you can't afford it all in one shot, save up, or pick up another part time job. Don't forget there's those of us(me) that run -3/4* camber on our track cars for better turn in/handling...not that it's needed on a street car like OP's. that's why I bought mine.

That fits under "get it back to where it belongs."
