Hi Everyone, new to this forum in search of some info on my wifes "93 Civic EX. I did do a search but couldn't find the info i was after so i'm hoping someone can help me.

I just had some new tires and a 4 wheel alignment done on this car. When i picked it up the guy said that there was some fluid leaking from the steering rack. I asked if it was just a matter of replacing a seal or something and he told me that the whole rack would have to be replaced, at a cost of somewhere between $700 and $800. After i got off the floor, i was wondering if this guy was trying to take me for a ride or not. I'm an ok mech, but have little experience on these cars so i figure i'll ask those that know.
