Default '93 Si master cylinder difference?

I'm putting F/R 94+ Integra brakes on my '92 vx. I went to the junkyard and picked up a prop valve and master cylinder off of a '93 Civic Si. I'm pretty sure that the prop valve is right, but is this the right MC? Is there any difference between this and my stock one? I know that the '91 ex would have been the best choice, but they didn't have one...

Let me know. Thanks.

The one you should use is a 15/16" MC. It says right on it. Stock VX is 13/16".

the 92-93 mc is a 13/16 if your going to keep the civic booster use the 15/16. you wont feel too much difference... the best is to go 1" using an integra m/c and booster. ive gone from 13/16>15/16>1"

Crap. This one is 13/16. That's exactly the same as my stock one isn't it? Eventhough the Si has rear discs?

The 93 Si had smaller front rotors than Integras, but same rear rotor size. It is best to use the same bb/mc combo from which the brakes came from.

Dammit. The people at the junkyard I got this at were ******** too. There's no way they'll switch it out for the right one. Is it even worth it to buy another 15/16 one? Or should I just wait and do the 1 inch down the road?

I would wait and get the 1inch. I had my stock 13/16th with teg front and rears on for about a month. Your brakes will suck but it's definitely drivable. Upgrade to the teg 1inch mc (all 98+ tegs are 1inch) and bb and your car will stop on a dime.

Also, isn't your 93 SI prop valve that you bought 4030? I remember hearing that somewhere. You want 4040 (preferably from a 94-95 RS teg).

if you dont have the cash to get the 1" setup just use it. but its up to you. but you will feel the difference with the 1" setup..so if you can swing the exchange then great. but if not well?

and you can use any 40/40 from any integra that had rear disc brakes and no abs. that means 90-91 integras too. its all the same as the 94+ rs integra's just different part numbers<<<i already did the research its the same part just different part numbers.

but depending on what year 1" you get you may or may not have to reflare one of your brake lines. far as i know 98+ integras with abs will need no reflaring. but 96+ you will have to reflare. so stick with 98+ if you can.

Thanks guys. I read on here somewhere else that this prop valve is 40/40. Is that incorrect?

if yours is from a 93 si.. you can clearly see what numbers you have by looking at it.. you will see numbers stamped on it... your will be 30/40 or 40/30 or even 30/35

and the one you want will look exactly like the one in you hand, but have 40/40 stamped on it.. also if you decide to go with the 40/40 make sure you save the bracket on the one you current have. you will need it

Thanks guys, I was reading this link: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1036267

He makes it sound like all 92-95 rear disc civics have a 40/40 prop valve. I'll have to check mine when I get home.

So just to be clear, I need a MC and BB off of a 98+ integra WITH abs right? It will bolt right up to the 92 vx brake lines?

I don't believe it matters if the car has abs or not, just make sure the mc as two fittings. Yes, it'll bolt up as long as your fittings are the correct size and you'll need to bend one line to the other side of the MC where it attaches. No biggie, use your hands to bend it, do it slowly.

Also, you will need a 4040 prop valve if you are going to have a rear disc conversion, any other one will result in forward braking bias.

Ok I called another junkyard and they have a 96 Integra MC w/ BB. He measured the lines and they're both 10mm. He couldn't find anywhere on it what size it was though. Do the 1 inch say something different? Or are all Integras 1 inch?

I'm going to go look at it and try and find another prop valve. Any 40/40 will work as long as it doesn't have abs right?

The MC will say 13/16. 15/16 or 1 on the side of it. That's how you know.

Get a 4040 prop valve from an RS INTEGRA. The RS is non-abs, so you need to get it from that model. http://www.importautosalvage.com has them.

Yay, they had everything I needed. Now I just hope it all fits.

BTW- for future reference the '93 Si prop valve is 30/40
