Default 93 Si.........Few ??'s

First of all i'd like to say that I FINALLY got a Honda.....I'd been looking for one, dreaming of one.....for about 2 years. Just picked it up Fri.

Car: '93 Si hatch, teal, 5sp., 158k mi.
Picked her up for about 2500 bucks......runs GREAT!

Back to the post....I was almost certain that all Si's came with foglights. Not that i need them or particularly want them...i was just pretty sure it should have some and it doesnt.

Also, i thought the door handles and mirrors only came in like, a urethane black??? Mine are painted and look factory.

Just trying to get a know-how on my car, still VERY new to imports, let alone Hondas (owned 3 Cavaliers....DONT hate people, post isn't about those cars LOL)
Thanks all...

Congrats, sounds like you picked up a good hatch.
First off, si's did not come stock with fogs. They were an option and are still pretty readily available, and easy to find if you desire them.
The mirrors and door handles on the si's came painted from the factory, it was the lower models that did not(dx,cx).good luck.

The stock tach is notorious for being off about 500 rpm.

5200 to 5400 rpm - is also conditional on how clean your oil is and your oil and coolant levels - i.e. if either is too low, VTEC will now kick in.

it kicks in at around 5 grand on most models, and if u do want the fog lights, u can pick up a set for about 75 bucks shipped on ebay, they arent necessary, but look pretty sweet when the bezels are painted to the factory color IMHO.

VTEC at 4800. same thing with my 93 si coupe(d16z6).

You might not notice it as much as a dual overhead cam motor.(b,h,series)
i find if you floor it at about 3k in say 3rd gear, let it rev and listen. again good score.

92 Si's have black mirrors and black grill openings for the fog lights.

ahhh i remember my teal si hatch...:sigh: but anyway no, and no. foglights were an option, sis had painted mirrors/handles. dxs/cxs didn't. it's the same with the coupes/sedans. with vtec, mine kicked in a 5200. you won't notice it w/the stock intake (resonator- i still have the stock tube/box filter, just take out all the bullshit piping that goes behind the bumper) and the fact that it's a single cam, which there isn't anything wrong with <<hence the name, and stock sohc vtec is barely noticeable. get an intake and you'll be able to hear it. but it is quiet so don't be disappointed.

foglights were optional on 92-95hatches
si models had paint matched side mirrors and exterior door handles.
