93 honda civic fuel issue/overheating
I know it is the summer and car tend to overheat but my car the temp gauge will go up and down depending on if i am stopped or going. When i start the car it sound like it is not getting enough fuel but after letting it run it stops and runs like normal. when i stop my car the tachometer goes up and down from 500 to 2500. not so much different or interesting as far as the sounds the car makes.
any help is better than no help
thanks

I had the same problem. Checked both gaskets and both were leaking. Tstat gasket and front water neck gasket. Filled up and purged air out of the coolant system. My thermostat stopped working and caused the leak. The air bubbles usually cause the erratic idle.

Turn the engine off before the temp gauge needle gets close to the red zone. Otherwise, you'll destroy the engine. Have you looked for coolant leaks? You should probably pressure test the cooling system in search of a leak. Also replace the thermostat and bleed the cooling system again. Other possibilities are a bad radiator or blown head gasket.
