93 hatchback -- How do I get my rear side windows to open?
Whats up HT. I have been trying to find a way to get my rear windows to pop out on my EG. Like the after market sun roofs kinda of the same hing. I would like to get some help on this. Or if anyone knows where to look or what ever. I would really appreciate some help. I did have a DX that had them on there i guess factory. So i guess i need to say it is a 93 hatchback with a B16a power plant. It is white.

If you hope to get useful replies, then provide all relevant information about your car and engine:

Ya I didn't think that the engine size was important! But I don't want to remove them i want them to pop open. Like most of the after market moon roofs.

never seen anything like that on a 5th gen. They definitely never came from the factory like that, can't see any aftermarket company making such a thing either.

Re: How to get rear windows to pop out
It was a 92 civic hatchback DX. Both rear windows opened and closed. It had a/c and had a d16 non vtec. No sun roof though but my 93 is a CX and did a motor swap in it. just would like to figure out how to get this car with those.

Re: How to get rear windows to pop out
I'm guessing you want them to pop open like old school mini vans. 5th Gen never had that option and I've never seen it before. Would be a cool project though.

And the only non-vtec D16's (from '88-'96) were the '88-'91 Si's. All other non-vtec engines were D15's (1.6L vs 1.5L).
So unless someone did custom modifications to your previous car, as well as an engine swap, then you're mistaken.

Well the car was stock with that engine. I got the car from this old women that took really good care of it. When i had it i got most of the engine parts from auto zone under that car. So not to sure what you r talking about. Not trying to rude.

If you had a car like that, it must have been some kind of one-off aftermarket.

I ahve no a/c in my hatch either and I live in South Florida and I find I get plenty of air in the car just by having the windows rolled down TBO...I actually think that I get more air circulation in this car with no sunroof than I did in my srt-4 with a sunroof OR my 89 crx si with a sunroof

To get some nice air flow drive with the hatch open and the window closed. haha I am very interested in this being done.

I thought I seen it on a 5th gen hatch before...but maybe not lol cause I can't swear to it. But simply if you don't see that hinge/handle then it ain't happening. Good Luck
