Hey i got a 1993 hatch with a 2000 si motor with ctr pistons and ctr cams and skunk2 valves and springs with itr IM. The car has stock civic headers and stock exhaust.also CAI. Car not tuned yet

I failed smog with high HC. I got a new cat the other day. the smog dude said that I got a missfire.


It also has NO power at Low end and even high end should be way better . It ran WAY BETTER with ctr pistons and stock b16 cams. I will tune later but do you think its tunning? I will also do 2.5 exhaust all the back but do you think its cuz of that?
I am also running a jdm b16 del sol ecu. I checked compression and its 190 190 195 200.
Now thats way too low (i think) for a 16 ctr.

i got 190 with my stock 98 jdm b16 which had p30 pistons and it also matters if your car was cold or warm when you did the compression test..and yes tunning will do that to your car...so tuning is a must..and you wont regret it...but yeah i wish i could smog my motor

yea it was warmed up all the way.

Yea I know that tuning gives you full power from the motor but I am supposed to feel a diffrence from a stock b16 and a b16 ctr even without tuning ...right?

its gonna be the ecu, if ur misfiring then somethings wrong with ur timing, get the car tuned or get the correct ecu

personally, i hate ctr pistons....they always have a dirty burn because the domes are so high, leaving carbon build up

anyway, custom tuning your ecu would be in your best interest. you can't just keep throwing random parts together and expect everything to continue to run perfect

thats not always true i threw on my turbo and didnt feel a difference till i got it tuned cause it ran like ****

or how about we download a map onto the ecu for our setup? Or maybe even a ctr map?
