93 eg has brake shimmy
Damn this is pissing me off.
93 eg with 200K miles on it. I have replaced everything in the suspension, from koni's/GC coilovers, to new steering rack, tie rods (inner and outer), wheel bearings, and all the bushings are new poly.
Also brand new rotors.
Still have a shimmy, mainly under harder braking.
Tried rotating the wheels, but no difference.
I even took the brand new rotors in and had them checked at NAPA for runout.
What in the hell can be causing this shimmy? It feels like the tires are wobbling left to right at high frequency under braking (just to be clear what I mean by shimmy). It isnt a bounce, but a side to side shimmy.
thx

Re: 93 eg has brake shimmy
try to take off the wheels ALL OF THEM
retorque and torque in proper sequence-- improper sequence/ torque specs can give u brake pulse seen MANY MANY TIMES from sloppy/shitty tech
star pattern and 80 ft lbs IIRC on trq specs

Re: 93 eg has brake shimmy
hey guys, yes everything has been replaced on the front end.
all ball joints, all bushings, all tie rod ends, brand new brake pads, brand new rotors, wheel bearings, steering rack, etc.
I cant believe I'm having this problem as my crx doesnt do this and I have yet to touch it's 200K mile front end.
