93 DX hatch, weird starting problem
Bought this car from my cousin that moved to toronto 2 years back. It always had this problem but i didnt really care since im only using to get to the univ. Well the problem is i gotta crank twice for it to start when the car been sitting for a while and engine is cool. When engine is still warm like say i stop to fill up gas, it will start normally. Just whne enging been sitting for couple hours that it won't start first try. I tried to fix it few times but can't seem to find out wtf is going on. Tried my family friend who's a mechanic and he doesnt know either. He only looked at it briefly cause i didn't wanna tear the whole car apart to fix this stupid problem. It seems like either the fuel or oil is losing pressure and that it has to build up pressure on the first crank to start on the second crank and not so much the temperature of the engine. Well i looked up a bunch of stuff and changed things that i could. Changed all the parts that would normally cause this problem for other people but still no luck.
What i changed last summer so far:
1) Main Fuel Relay (notorious for causing this problem in the 94-97 accords) *did nothing
2) 4 New Spark Plugs *nothing
3) Battery (thought old one is getting weak) *nothing
4) Fuel Filter *nothing
5) Air Filter *Nothing
6) New Distributor *old one was messed
I know its not the fuel pump since i hear it prime up when car is turn to on. Its also an auto so no transmission issue that would cause this problem. However, my stupid cousin did put a bunch of useless electronics in the car. Has a screen, 2 subs, 1 amp, components speakers, Compustar 2-way alarm/starter, used to have a ps2 that i took out. So i might be thinking that the electronics has something to do with it since he didnt put a second battery in. I took it to the install place last fall, they say the wiring is alright and its not the electronics, but who knows.
Well just posting to see if anyone got this problem for their EG or have an idea whats causing it. Feel free to post here or PM me. If you wanna look at the car yourself in person just drop me a PM and ill arrange to drop the car off at your place along with some beers for couple hours for the car to cool down and you can start it yourself. If the problem turns up to be more than what a case of beer is worth, then i guess i can pay you to fix it. I rather pay fellow honest guys on this forum than taking it to a shop and get hit with stupid quotes saying i have to replace a bunch of ****. Hope to see some replies soon cause im going on roadtrip with this car this summer and i dont want to have this stupid problem anymore.
Anyone with this problem on an EG before please help
