93 Del Sol Si- Targa Top Rack Removal

Has anyone removed theirs for weight savings? It is not my daily driver, just my toy. Does the rack serve any purpose other than holding the Targa Top?

Mines removed as of now cuz of system I got in it. Its weighs very lil like 15 lbs
