93 Del Sol S b18a1 w/Cable trans swap?
Okay, I've looked around on a few sites and have come up with really nothing.. for my swap info... Basically I want to use as much as I can from the 92 Integra I picked up, In my 93 Delsol S that's Currently an auto with a D15b Non V-taak..
Things I know I need thus far..
Motor "have it"
Trans w/cable clutch "have it, If I can make it work"
D to B mounts? "Still need more info, before I source them out"
Engine harness "have it"
Ecu "have it"
Electric Speed sensor to replace the cable Speed sensor "Haven't looked into this yet"
Clutch pedal Assy (Will the one from my Integra bolt up?) "have it if it bolts up..."
Axels "have them still in the car"
throttle cable "from the 92 Integra?"
Things I'm missing atm
B-series Del Sol shift linkages
Motor mounts..
Pretty much.. I want to know if this can work in my Delsol S with an autotragic, Info is much appreciated.
Also I know.... Doing a Hydro to cable conversion can be done also... Do I want that route... no... Why? Because I just love the feel of the straight up cable clutch pedal, this reason is why I want to use the 92 Integra cable trans I have also still sitting in my parts car.

its illegal to swap an engine that is older than ur car. Why would you want to anyways. Just get a ls engine, they arent that expensive.sell the engine on CraigsList and go get a ls engine.

Everyone goes LS. I've seen plenty of people swap motors into their cars that were older, but had less miles on them and they did perfectly fine... and some, even exceptionally well.

yea im not 100% sure about it being illegal but thats what i heard. Anyways its not worth spending all that time to swap a B and put in a older engine.

Re: 93 Del Sol S b18a1 w/Cable trans swap?
Im in the same situation, I have the front half of a 92 Integra GS-R with the B17 that I pulled apart because the body was completely rotten and I want to put it into a 92 Civic that has an Automatic transmission. It seems that B series transmissions (And everything else mind you) are getting harder and harder to come by so I would like to make use of the Cable transmission I already have.

In my opinion I think putting an LS behind a fairly torqueless B17 wouldn't be my best bet, and I would probably fall out of vtec every shift..looking to see what I can find to use the GS-R Cable tranny before I go searching for a Hydraulic equivalent.

thats true, the gearing would be all screwed up. It doesnt matter, the b17 input shaft is different than all other b series trannys. so pretty much your only choice is the cable tranny.

Actually, I think it uses the same input shaft as all the Hydraulic B-Series trannys. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

All '92 - '93 USDM/CDM Integra transmissions use the same input shaft as hydro B-series trannys. You can actually swap the cable guts into a hydro case. Which IMO is better and cheaper alternative to buying a hydro to cable conversion. JDM B16A cable transmissions all use the smaller '90 - '91 style input shaft IIRC.
