93 del sol - D16Z6 worth rebuilding?
Hello honda tech. This is my first post so please bear with me. I recently purchased a 1993 honda del sol and needed some help in a few areas. The engine is a D16z6 vtech from a 94 del sol si. I was wondering if it would be worth rebuilding it because it has 187,000 miles on it or should I just buy another engine and rebuild that one. Another thing is that I don't really know where to buy aftermarket parts for the engine online. I've been reading ratings on a lot of websites and most of them are not real. Does anyone have websites that they have used to purchase parts that were legit? I would appreciate any advice that anyone could give me and if you need anymore infomation about the car just let me know.

Re: 1993 Honda del sol
As for reputable places to buy parts, there are only about a thousand out there. The best idea is to go directly to the manufacturer's website, find the part number, and Google the part number. That'll show you all (properly set up) web companies that sell it. From there, you can compare prices, and even browse within the associated categories to see if there's another, equally (or more) functional part for what you want.

The engine runs strong. It has given me no problems at all since I owned the car. Im just worried because the engine is getting up there in miles.

Key things:
Timing belt
Head gasket
Catalytic convetrer
FITV/IACV
and if you live in northern climates, alternators and the accompanying mounting hardware
OP maintAin these things and your engine should give you at least another 50k. Also:
pay attention to smells. If you smell oil, then your piston rings are failing, or if it only burns oil at high revs, valve seals. Watch out for rattling noises in the tranny, could be signs of old worn bearings and ****. And finally....
Vtech is a phone manufacturer. VTEC is what you meanT to say.
Anyways, good luck with the sol, hopefully its not rusted.

Lol I guess I should know the difference between vtech and VTEC. Thanks everyone for the advice I really appreciate it. I was able to find a couple websites to order the parts I want to replace on my engine. Would anyone know anywhere for body parts my local junkyards aren't really helping and I need stock bumpers to replace the rusted ones that the car came with.
