Default 93 Del sol/B18b1 swap - cyls 1 & 4 lean, cyls 2 & 3 rich

OK guys i need some help.... I swapped a B18B1 in my 93 del sol. I swapped it at my buddies house and got it running so i was like cool ill take it home. BUT i drove it open header cause i need a new test pipe and the throttle bracket wasnt hooked up i need to make one so it works properly, i only drove it maybe 1 mile.. But heres the deal i got home and looked at the header and seen cylinders 1 and 4 on the header were dark and 2 and 3 were still stainless steel, cause it was a new header. so checked spark it was good, checked compression every cylinder good at 160 lbs and holding, checked the spark plugs 1 and 4 were white (those were the ones on the header which were darkened) and 2 and 3 were black (the ones on the header that were still stainless steel). Whats my issue its kinda making me worried a little? Also, car is idling at 2k when warm.. give me suggestions please!

First thing. You're missing a stud and bolt so it cannot possibly be seating correctly.
Sorry. make that two studs and bolts.

Was the engine healthy when you swapped it in? Timing? Running like crap? CELs? You never said how it actually drove.

I doubt the studs is going to solve my problem I was throwing two codes. O2 sensor and intake temp sensor switched the intake temp sensor and it took that code away no o2 code either. The guy I bought it off of said it was the best ls motor he has every owned but if your a seller usually we all say that.

Well I'm just stating that if these details are overlooked, then what else has? I don't know your level of skill but at first glance this doesn't seem to be a well executed swap. Is it timed correctly? What color was the spark?

Well, mainly because it's been done many many times successfully. I've read DIYs and build threads and they seem pretty straight forward and you've reported pretty strange issues off the bat? Throttle bracket not hooked up but you drive it anyway? Never seen that.

Is the mechanical/ignition timing correct? How are you not throwing any CELs?

Yes it's correct and like I said there is no CELs. I throttle cable was rigged so I could get to my house a mile away that's why. If you don't have any suggestions that's fine I'll find someone else

I think I asked you two times already if the timing was correct and you seem to ignore that question until just now (even though I have no clue what "correct" means). I also asked you how the car ran. Didn't answer that one either. Also you need to figure out if the injectors are all spraying properly. Also what color the spark is and if the plugs and wires are all good. Does the CEl even work?

The timing is correct. It ran ok but the throttle cable was rigged so couldn't feel much power I didn't see if the injectors are spraying correctly. And also plugs and wires brand new. I'm thinking it's running like that cause exhaust isn't hooked up so no back pressure?

Back pressure is a myth. And you were the one that said that the exhaust was not an issue.

And you're telling us that the header became discolored like that after only a mile of driving and no CELs being thrown? The idle issue is probably from your rigged bracket situation.

Lemme see. You said timing is correct, you have spark, injectors are spraying, no CELs, plugs and wires are new, car is running okay so by your report you shouldn't even be having an issue if you actually checked all these things.

Good luck. Maybe someone will come along and ask better questions to better help you 'cause I'm batting a tousand.

I really don't see how you can get black or white plugs after only one mile if they were new. Even when my wife's engine was on it's last legs it didn't do that.

Check your cap and rotor. That's all I got.

Maybe your injectors in 1 amd 4 are putting in too much fuel, are they new injectors? The inkectors might be shot

Yeah but why is cylinders 1 and 4 running lean and 2 and 3 are really rich? Also after it was ran I touched the header the outer ones that change color was really hot like a header should get. The inner ones that didn't change colors were just warm not hot like they should be?

You didn't really touch a running temperature stainless steel header did you?

It just looked a little odd to me so I touched the two inner pipes to see if they were even hot. They were just warm

These header and spark plug colors are contradictory. Post some pictures.
