I bought this del sol a while back in hopes of fixing it and driving it it is a 93 del sol si d16z6 with auto trans. It starts runs and drives but it seems to stay in 2nd gear. Even manually shifting d1 to d2 to d3 to d4 once you try to go to d3 nothing happens. The cluster indicates it moves through all of them though. Initially I bought this car because it was cheap and I thought I may try to do an auto to manual conversion but will probably just part it out now unless anyone has any ideas what I could try.

Another separate issue on my 95 del sol s d15b7 with mt. Car is very hard to start when its cold outside. Usually in the summer I have to crank it once for a few seconds then I crank it again and it starts right up. I've noticed as it has gotten colder outside I not have to crank it up to 8-10 times before it starts when its really cold. I don't want to ruin the starter so I try to not drive it much in now until the spring but if any one has any ideas I would appreciate it

does the del sol have like a transmission control module or something similar that could be bad or bad solenoid?

trans control is integrated into the ecu.

Change the transmission fluid with Honda ATF. Sometimes those transmissions come back to life. If you see a long trail of metal filings come out with the magnetic drain plug it probably has never been changed. Don't laugh, those transmissions can still come back to life.
