93 CX random dash light failure

93 CX random dash light failure
My dash lights randomley going out if i tap the center of the gauge cluster they come back on. Is this a common problem or do i need to go start folowing wires and checking grounds?

the plug was good wires were not broken or shorting out. once a week or so. i have had the cluster out once sence i bought the car to run new stereo wires but the problem was there before that.

In the unplugged dimmer switch connector, insert a jumper wire to short the red wire terminal to the black wire terminal. Drive around this week to see whether this prevents the problem.

ok i got the jumper installed had some pins around so its a good secure fit. will drive around a week or so. it is nice to have the dimmer switch.
