93 cx hatch with B18C1 head and B16A2 bottom end .... thoughts
just like it says ........ i just bought the car and it has a p28 ecu .... probably why my v-tec dosent really do much until 6k rpm..... my friend has a 2000 gsr with the same head and his v-tec is much stronger starts at 4 and hits again at 6.. should i get a p72 ecu???

wierd engine/head combo, but here are some comments:
does the b18c1 head have the stock intake manifold on it? the b18c1 i/m has dual length intake runners. inorder to activate them properly you NEED a P72 to control the "butterfly" valves. that's why your friend's GSR has that kick at 4k.
the P28 is the wrong ecu for this setup, unless its chipped. if it is chipped, and you have an aftermarket intake manifold, your car should be running well (if the chip is good).
if your car has a p28 in it already, there's no need to wire anything to put a p72 obd1 in there.

just thought of that... i guess it's worh the loss in flow? it'd be better to get some it-r or ct-r pistons to bump the CR

you can either chipped the ecu into b series specs or get the p72.

thoughts (Ignitecivic)
i think the p28 ecu that i have in there is slightly chipped for example the rev limit is past 8400rpm ... i do however have the gsr intake manifold so thats probably why my v-tec dosent hit a 4k ...... how can i tell if my ecu is obd1 or 2? if it is obd1 then i could put and obd1 p72 ecu in place of it??? both my head and bottom end are obd2... how does that work?

Re: thoughts (neophyte210)
You can tell if your ecu is obd1 if it has 3 places for the plugs to go into it. If it is obd2 it will have 4 slots one of which will not have have any pins. As for the engine it doesn't matter if it is obd2 or obd1, the obd1 ecu will run either without a problem
