Edit: found the problem. Main car harness was melted behind pedal assembly's. Looks like im gonna have to by a harness.
Edit: its only the bright light on the passenger side.
Ok guys im new to site. I have been meaning to rejoin for a while just been to busy. Anyway, my 93 civic ex has a short in the bright lights/running lights. When i turn my running lights on, no headlights my bright lights have power and when i have no lights on at all and go to flash my brights, the cluster lights flash with the brights. Any help would be so much appreciated or if you neex to know more just lmk thanks

What documentation do you have for the car?

By that, do you have the factory service manual (FSM)? How about the Electrical Troubleshooting Manual |(ETM)?

What electrical tools do you have?

And lastly, what experience do you have with electrical troubleshooting?

I dont have any manuals or much documentation. I do know that the car got stolen from the guy that i bought it from but i do not know what all they took off the car before it was recovered but when i purchased it there were still some interior pieces missing and some broke. I have some electrical stuff like wire stripper/crimpers and soldering iron and a assortment or connectors/heat shrink and test like but i have to by a volt/ohmns tester because mine broke. I dont have alot of wiring experience but i think i have enough to get by but if i dont know or understand sonething ill stop and figure it out or learn it.

Okay so once you have a digital multi-meter you will want to do yourself a favor and google ab0ve 92-95 civic fsm and find a good download link for the Factory Service Manual.

With that you should be able to get a basic idea of what wires to continuity test from your lights to the daytime circuit etc.

By the looks of things, the two last solid spots to find the FSM have finally been shut down. One being the old site hondatech.info which is no longer a valid website.

It appears you will have to register for the hondahookup.com forum I think to get to the manuals. They seem to still have them but only available to members.

You can also sometimes find it still on P2P software.

Or the best option is you can typically buy the official FSM from helminc.com for about 45 bucks normally.

Looks like it's getting harder and harder to find for free.
