You know, those thin plastic sheets that seem like they're made of the same material as shower curtains that you have to rip off when fixing the door handle or lock mechanism? When you put new ones back on, what adhesive should I be using? Permatex weather stripping adhesive or equivalent? The manual simply states to use "adhesive" but makes no mention of what kind to use that I can find. Here's a pic for reference:

Anything that can stand up to heat and humidity will work just fine, although I'm sure Honda has their own sealant, if you're that much of a purist.

This guy has a write up on vapor barriers and suggests using 'butyl tape'.

id probably use somthing along the lines of a silicon caulk like the kind u would use to seal a tub surround. it will do good with the humidity and moisture and its fairly sticky

Either way, it can be found online for pretty cheap, so in this case overkill wouldn't be a bad thing.

Yea, I don't need anything fancy, just something that'll last for years and keep the rain out and the warm/cool air inside the car. I recently rebuilt my A/C compressor and installed a new drier and recharged the system, so I've got cold A/C now. I'd like that cold air to actually stay in the car, so I'll need to replace the plastic covers that i removed previously for fixing the door handle mechanisms. Interesting writeup there, though. Butyl tape does sound like a good deal if a $10 roll will be enough for both doors (i have a 2 dr)... hmm

Roughly 7 feet per door, if I'm eyeballing it correctly. Probably a little less. a 20' roll should do the trick just fine.
