93 civic is sputtering
Hey so I have a 1993 civic I use daily to go to work. And today it started sputtering on my way to work. It did at take off than continue to drive just fine. What can be causing this. Fuel or plugs. Would be grateful to anyone who can help me diagnose the problem thanks

Pull plugs and check how they look for starters. See if they look really lean, may indicate a timing issue or that your injectors aren't firing correctly. Alternatively if they're really black/oily/sooty that'll tell you something else.
You said it gets better as RPM goes up? Low RPM/take off is the worst?

Re: 93 civic
One year maybe 10-15000 miles. I replaced plugs wires. Ignition coil and fuel filter when I got the car. My friend said my car is running a little lean. So I would need a fuel pressure regulator in order to add more fuel.

Check the cap for cracks. Some aftermarket wires only last a year. Mist a little water on the wires and cap and see if that makes it worse. It shouldn't affect anything if the parts are good. Another test is to run the engine in the dark and see if there is any stray sparking or glowing around the ignition system.

i replaced fuel pump with a 255 plugs are more brown and car drives a lot better. It rained yesterday so the sputtering returned. Maybe moisture in cap or ECU. It went away. Just have to worry about next time it rains . Thanks for all the help guys

a new brand x ebay distributor could make things worse.
test coil and icm (likely the latter if tach freaks out).
Advanced Ignition Troubleshooting - Team Integra Forums - Team Integra
buy decent made in japan parts. tec for coil, nec for icm. not cheap but worth it.
when in doubt look for the red heart on rockauto.
