93 Civic SI intermittent start issue

Bone stock 93 si recent starting issue-

Sometimes starts fine, usually it wont crank - like its a weak battery, but battery tests fine, can start via popping the clutch/jumper cables, alternator tests fine, main engine relay/s fine, no CEL's when jumped ecu harness

After i pop the clutch to start when i go to start up 1 out of 5 times it will start right up.

Help!

If jumper cables allow the starter to crank, then the battery is weak. What's the voltage across the battery posts?

Have you cleaned and tightened the battery connectors, the G1 battery ground attached to the chassis, and the G3 transmission ground?

yes, yes and yes & g1 & g3 make good ground

When the starter won't crank, does the starter solenoid fail to receive battery voltage? If so, check the safety switch and rubber stopper it presses on at the top of the clutch pedal, as well as the ignition switch.

Not sure, the times i've tried to replicate the problem with my meter nearby i cant get it to happen. grrrr Carrying the meter around in the car till then. But I have checked the switch and rubber stopper - both ok.

It's not so much that it wont crank, when it happens its just a weak half crank

I appreciate the help, ill check the ignition switch tomorrow and post results.

Thanks again

i can jumper from the battery to the ignition switch wire connection on the solenoid - if it works, it's not the solenoid, and its either the ignition switch or the clutch pedal switch. edit: or wire broken/loose somewhere

right?

Here's the circuit, which involves a relay, so the problem also could be several different wires or the relay.

where is the "starter cut relay" located? under leftside of dash?
