93 Civic hatch - starter won't crank! Please help!
I have a 93 hatch. And my car won't start. Battery works and the fuel primes but it doesn't crank. The starter doesn't even click. I tried a starter from a friends running car and still nothing. Anyone have an idea why? Thanks for help

Re: my hatch wont start! please help!
The safety starter switch at the top of the clutch pedal presses on a rubber stopper. Check whether the stopper is broken or fell out.

Check whether the stopper presses in the safety switch when the clutch pedal is pushed down.

I'm having the same problem I think... been looking all over online and through the repair manual and can't find anything on this. I'm in the military so checking my car time wise is alway crucial.
my fuse for my alarm system blew out so I replaced it and after that my car doesn't have any power what so ever, no head light, no light inside the car, wont crank, wont start... it's like it's completely dead. check all the fuses and they're good, idk about the relays though, been so long since I remember how to check it. if anyone can lead me to some type of path that'll be great and also help Lao17 since it sound almost like we having the same issues. P.S. I replaced my battery to a new one as well and nothing still... checked my ignition switch and it still looks like the key is still grabbing the plastic from it to turn it. please.... pleassseee someone respond I need my baby back ^.^ |

My 93 civic was doing the exact same thing, I did the same thing with a friends starter and nothing at all. I ended up looking at the fuse box under the hood where the battery is and one fuse was blown, it was called IG short for ignition, its a 50A one. I swapped it out and she was back on the road.

You might also need to replace the wire harness for the ignition switch which is fairly simple that thing just stops working out of nowhere happened to a friend of mine everything cut off for some reason noting would crank or anything.

Welcome to the board 93civic4door... love your spirit and effort in trying to help other fellow board members, however, in the future you might want to check the date of the last post before adding your suggestions. The community sees this as either "trying" to be relevant or padding your post count... and I don't get the feeling that your intent was either... but maybe genuinely more like excited to help. This thread is almost seven years old... if they are still having problems now... they really shouldn't be working on the car themselves, they should seek professional help. ;)
Thread put back to bed. Cheers. |
