93 Civic Hatch (Si motor swapped in) idle issues
Hi, I have a 93 honda civic hatch (one in avatar that didnt show) and when I bought it, it was having idleing issues. Like idling a bit higher than normal. We were told it was the Idle Air Control Valve, (We also replaced the spark plugs and wires) so after cleaning it, no good. (Note: It was still drivable, just an odd idler) So I buy a brand new one (for the 1.6 since I think that is the Si), and an air filter (Didnt have one) since it was running a straight pipe. (and cut the pipe since it wouldnt have been able to fit with the filter on it)
Well I had to work so one of my honda buddys came over while I was at work and installed both parts. But the cars idle is now much worse. It idles at around 300RPM (Three Hundred), and its like doing an in and out humming sound (have video if needed). If I apply the gas it will go up then either go back to low RPM range or just cut off.
So after trying to keep the RPMs steady for a minute, I take my foot off the gas pedal and decided to start getting out of the car. My brother wanted me to do one more rev just in case but this time I just pushed the pedal with my hand and this time the RPMs didnt move, It sounded as if my car was completly bogged down. We move it out of the garage (in reverse) and it moves just fine, but when we put it back in first the rpms are staying still and its barely reving and putting forward. So we take it out of gear and it will occasionally not rev, or rev very slowly. Could it be the new IDACV? Or is the car not getting enough oxygen?
This is a lot so Im not sure if anyone can help me with this. Ill try to answer any question to the best of my ability but this is my first honda so my responses are very limited.
