Default 93 Civic/F22 swap - A new challenger appears *LWIP*

Hey HT, first time honda owner here but ive been into "modding" for quite sometime. I always told myself "dont give in, never get a honda, they are boring and hard to do something unique w/o boatloads of money" but it didnt help that all my friends owned hondas and i was the only mazda in the group.

Long story short i ended up picking up a 93 civic for 200 from a friend and we are in the process of swapping the engine (who would of guessed). Through months or real world research and online research i have decided on swapping a f22b into my 4door, i have numerous reasons why i choose this platform other the others. A few reasons are im tired of hearing b series this and b series that, i no longer want a k series, and im tired of everyone hatin on the single cams .

Ill post pics of my progress and a little more as it goes along but with limited funds its going to be awhile before things start to roll in.

Interesting plan. Look into Bisimoto engineering, they made incredible power out of an F.

why the hell would you swap that? the reason why b series are so popular is because of all the combinations of **** you do with them since most of them are interchangable. thats the weirdest thing I think I've heard that somebody with limited funds would do a f22b swap. why not swap a b18b1 and turbo it with low boost easily in the low 200hp range

Still needs front brakes but just the rotors, interior cept the headliner is trash (had to scrap the leathers ). But other than that all the electrical stuff still works.

Guess you didnt read my reasons, i already know i could easily get my hands on a b series and boost it, but im not in a rush and i dont want a run of the mill honda. If anything i would of done a boosted d series, again i want to stay single cam and IF i wanted to do a dual cam i would of done an all motor G22/G23 swap.

Thanks bro! I tried to think of the most unique setup without having to throw a load of cash at it. A 4 door with a boosted f series with a/c (hopefully), id say its a perfect sleeper. Gonna stop by my buddies house and take pics of the dmg just to show its in pretty decent shape

Nice project man, good luck with it.

I know how you feel about giving in, I finally did back in 2006 and have been having a lot of fun with my little hatch.

Looks like you need a new carpet. I have a black one I just pulled from my hatch. It needs to be repaired in a couple of spots, but it's in WAY better shape than yours. PM me with your location, if we're close enough it's yours.

nice swap. Alot of people are always hating on SOHC's. Get a few nice bolt ons and you will be walking all over B series fkrs Just make sure you get a good tranny with short gears.

Because SOHC f22s are amazing in boost and n/a platforms. Where have you been?

Thanks alot guys, i hope this turns out ok too. Like i said i its a long work in progress especially since its being converted from auto to manual. I may be picking up a pedal assembly and intermediate shaft tomorrow, when i get payed next 2 weeks ill see if i can afford pistons, rings, bearings and head and main arp studs and get it ready for the machine shop.

Anybody have some suggestions for decent brand rings? Like the bearings i was told that oem rings would be fine.

Nothing new to report, pistons to be ordered next week and maybe some other things. Could get the car ready for paint but it would be a rattle can primer may just save the $30 in cans, sandpaper, dont know yet :/
