93 Civic ex NO SPARK?!

Alright guys, im really stuck on this...

2 Days ago, right after work I went to start my car.. No go.

Messed around for a little while and after not turning over, giving it gas, using the clutch right at the half point, turning over, after 10 minutes of trying it finally goes. I drive home.

The next day, it starts fine. Everything runs fine.

Today, go to start my car. AND IT WONT START AGAIN!

So I bring my battery to the local dealer, and the battery is running above par. So that's perfect.

The next thing I could think of is spark plugs, buy new ones and change those,

Still, car wont start.

So now I get worried....

I touch the spark plug to the engine with the cap on it, and bam it starts.. car ran just like normal..

Put the plug back in to the engine, try it.... and nope it doesn't want to run... at all.... Back to square one...

Take it out and try it again, now its not working, car wont run....

Alright so next I check the distributor cap, and that has NO WEAR AND TEAR, barely any... so it cant be that, the rotor has a little wear, but it looks perfectly fine..

So then from there im assuming the coil runs the rotor so it must be fine..

Im not sure where to go from here.... I don't have that much car knowledge, and it upsets me... I don't even know what to do...

If anyone has the answer, please explain in detail step by step, im kind of a dummy and don't understand all this stuff..

Just really want to get it going.

It all looks fine, BUT NOW I GOT NO SPARK...

Thanks guys,

Could be a bunch of things, quickest solution is to buy a new distributor from autozone and swap it out. If that doesn't work return it.

Let's start with the basics here before going out and buying things that aren't necessary. https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-d...2A%2A-1992733/
go through this FIRST and then report back. It'll be easier to diagnose after these steps are confirmed clear.

Muahahahahaha sounds lie you'll fit right in...
Please don't just go buying parts and throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.
Diagnose the problem properlly and be sure about your repairs.

I wouldn't do this. Most auto parts stores that I know of don't accept returns on parts that have been installed. Now for simple parts, like spark plugs, wire sets, lug nuts, etc etc, (pretty much anything you can use to diagnose, and then clean up without it looking any differently), you may be able to get away with it by telling a white lie, such as it was the wrong part or I didn't need it, etc etc. For my ranger, I was gonna buy an IACV, install it to see if my idle problem went away, then return it if it didn't. According to the sales rep, doing this is against policy, and both Autozone and O'reilly Auto Parts are like this. I'd imagine most other places will be the same way.
