93 civic dx w/ z6 swap
just got done swapping a d16z6 into my 93 honda civic dx- the car starts fine but when u go to rev it it revs up about 200 rpms and then wants to die it totally just cuts off- i checked my CELS and its on for vtec spool valve and primary o2 sensor- im assuming because the stock o2 is 1 wire now i have a 4 wire.... i cant figure out whats wrong with it and i need to get this car running asap....

Did this same swap 2 years ago and had the same CEL for VTEC spool valve, but not one for O2. The Dx d15b7 motor and the D16z6 motor both use the 4 wire O2 so that shouldn't be the problem.
When I had the VTEC spool CEL my motor didn't stumble like yours just didn't have VTEC. I would say check your wires with the multimeter to see if it's getting connection all the way to the ECU and if not then fix that. And for your motor stumbling, check ignition timing with a timing light. And you might want to check the cam timing to see if it skipped a tooth or not.

Re: 93 civic dx w/ z6 swap (D16SohcVtec)
so check to see if the crank and cam gear are at TDC and if there not is there a chance it ruined something in the engine?
any chance it could be something in the dizzy or dizzy related?

Make sure the pulley and the cam gear are both at TDC. I don't believe skipping a tooth isn't going to damage anything. But if that's not the problem take a timing light to see if your ignition timing is at 16 degress.
It could or could not be distributor related. You wanna make sure you check everything before you go out and start buying stuff that you don't even know is the problem.
