93 civic bogs under throttle
#1
93 civic bogs under throttle/low fuel press @ 10 PSI
92 hatch with a z6
cold starts are rough and stalls when idling
idles well but will stall unexpectedly when warm
bogs but doesn't die with WOT
Replaced:
Complete ignition, coil, rotor, cap, wires, plugs.
Fuel pump and filter
IACV, MAP, coolant temp sens, O2 sens
battery and alternator
No CEL
When I try to start it cold it needs some persuasion but it will start and idle hunt. When it warms up idles smooths but will cut out and die occasionally. Both when cold and hot it will bog when too much throttle is applied. I can get it to run up to 4-5k with light/feathering throttle, but with it opened wide suddenly it bogs; it will not die with WOT, stays running but low rpms and sound like it wants to die.
Comp test came up 170ish on each cylinder. Tested vacuum on the mani and stayed steady on idle. When to much throttle is applied in drops to zero and never levels.
Any ideas?

Yes CEL works, comes one with ign and goes away.
Both mech and ign timing are in.
Metering the TPS still gives me the 0.5 and closed and climbs to 4.5 when opened to WOT.
Thinking about draining fuel and blowing out fuel lines. had sat for a while before I bought it. Ran fine for a few weeks (went thru 2-3 tanks of gas, always premium) now this.
Fuel filter replaced, new fuel pump. Checked injectors, spray pattern looked good, not clogged.
The other thing I read was about sheilded wires for the dizzy getting resistance. Anyone heard of this or know the best way to test for this. Also going to meter the ignition controller per the FSM. Not something I've ever heard going bad but worth looking at.

Well fellas it appears the fuel line is clogged. Took off the line from the filter to the tank and not much fuel drained out. Vacuumed some out with a hand pump but couldn't get any to flow thru the line when pumped in from the filter side.
I am getting my hands on a compressor this week and will let you know the results.

Blew out a chunk of something from the fuel line. Didn't change anything.
*warning, wires are not my strong point*any input/advice is appreciated*
Started chasing some wires and checking grounds. Resistance to the grounding points are all zero. Found some resistance, 9 ohms, on the ignition wire from the steering column to the distributor. I think it is from the tach being wired in. Is the best way to fix this by soldering, wrapping and heat shrinking connection?
Also checked the ignition controller in the dizzy per the FSM, one connection did not have continuity, so that component may be bad, the ignition coil it self had resistance within limits, but the two connectors from the control unit had even more resistance (9-11 ohms). Again I don't know much about wiring and electronics but am willing to learn. Is this enough resistance to cause problems?

Re: 93 civic bogs under throttle
After reading that and doing more wire chasing let me clarify.
The cable in question is 12 gauge blk/yel running from ignition switch to fuse panel, to another connector before the firewall, to a 2 wire connector engine side of the wall, to the dizzy. Anywhere along this line to another ground I get 9 ohms. checked each individual wire and got zero ohms.
All other ground to ground points (i.e. neg battery term to valve cover) give zero ohms. Kinda lost in the sauce, still digging in FSM, lots of wiring **** in there not very fluent.
Thoughts? Advise? Anything?

Re: 93 civic bogs under throttle
Well it's been a while and I thought I would bump this with an update.
Found a short on the gauge cluster and replaced the ground. Took the resistance off the ignition wire. No change.
Got a B&M fuel pressure gauge. It is reading at 10 PSI. Already have replaced the filter and the pump. Pump is a Walbro 190. Blew out the all the lines with an air compressor. Big chunk came out of the main line. Still no change. Reading 10 PSI. Took the return line off the regulator and primed it looked like good flow. Replaced the old regulator with AEM adjustable. Still getting 10 PSI. Changing the filter on the pump next.
Any other thoughts on this low fuel pressure?

Re: 93 civic bogs under throttle
Guys last post was in 2015, but here it is. Looks like leaking back into the tank from the pump to the top of the hanger
"Well fellas this thread has been solved. After weeks of troubleshooting and lots of anger, violence, and vulgarity, I found the culprit of the low fuel pressure. It was the soft line from the pump to the access panel to the top of the tank. It had a pretty large hole in it, just pumping fuel back into the tank. New line, fired right up. She still needs some loving in other places but she is alive again. Thanks for the support dudes."
