93, 1.5 civic will idle but not drive above 2k RPM
Hey, I just bought a Civic for the great gas mileage, unfortunately it has already broke down.... I used the paperclip trick to identify the codes it was throwing which were 3 and 7, so I bought a TPS and MAPS installed them and the car will not even start now. can anyone help me out?

First you are supposed to reset your ECU and see if either of the codes come back. Once they are verified a 2nd time then there is flow charts to check for voltages at various spot. etc.
Now that you just gone and swapped them, I'm willing to bet there is a serious issue with the TPS install to where it won't start. I think the engine will run without the MAP sensor altogether just would throw a code.
The TPS on the other hand if seriously out of adjustment I think could prevent the car from running.
Please see this thread on proper installation of the TPS and how to adjust/calibrate your TPS so the ECU gets the proper information. See if that will at least get the engine to fire.
If it doesn't then we'll have to go to the beginning, compression test, fuel, ignition, timing etc etc.

Alright, after replacing the MAP sensor the car will not start at all. Also, the check light is no longer lit up.
additionaly to finish calibrating the TPS i need to car running to validate the vots correct?
Any other suggestions?

If you read the thread through the TPS part you will notice he only said put the key to the ON position so the dash lights up. Then he does all the nifty adjustments. At no point did he say start it while he was in process of adjusting all the screws and the tps sensor.
The one screw you don't want to touch though is the allen key screw. Leave that one be. The rest of hist process is good though.
