Looking to get some ideas from you guys on this one since I'm new to this emissions nonsense.

History: Just picked up this hatch. PO put in d16z6 (block and head only) in it but left it at that. I guess he didnt know what else to do with it. I tried running through emissions as it stood so i can get the car registered and failed.

25/25 : HC 266 ----- 167 allowed FAIL
CO 7.07 ---- .94 allowed FAIL
NOx 275 ---- 1240 allowed PASS

50/15 : HC 246 ------173 allowed FAIL
CO 7.49 ---- .97 allowed FAIL
NOx 232 ----- 1372 allowed PASS

So over the weekend I gathered some parts to get it running how it should. Picked up a p08 manifold, new intake, Ex/si Harness, 4 wire o2 sensor, p28 ecu, cap, rotor, new plugs, ngk wireset. Everything installed cleanly and running smooth. Only thing i couldnt find was an exhaust manifold and a voice in my head keeps telling me the catalytic would be whats holding me up now. But I took it in again to see how I stood anyways

Now these are my results:

25/15: HC 62 --- 167 allowed PASS
CO .18 ---- .94 allowed PASS
NOx 1187 ----- 1240 allowed PASS


50/15 HC 179 ---- 173 allowed FAIL
CO 2.40 ---- .97 allowed FAIL
NOx 1889 ---- 1372 allowed FAIL


I'm probably going to order a cat from magnaflow as my next step. Exhaust is 2 1/4 straight through with a magnaflow pan and the VX exhaust manifold with the "cat" built in.

Any thoughts, feelings, and/or concerns would be appreciated to help get this hatchy on the road again.
