Default 92 Si, Speedometer not working

So, my speedometer has been acting up lately, jumps all over the place, usually a tap on the dash would stop it. After a few track days it got worse, and the other day, it wraped itself all the way around till it pegged.
It is pointed to 7oclock when the ignition is off and pegged on the wrong side of the stop when you turn the ignition on.

The speedometer is the only problem, everything else is working including the odometer, cruise, vtec, etc. There is also no check engine light, so I dont think it is the vehical speed sensor. I checked the connection anyways, no corrosion, and the vss itself looks brand new inside.

Is it the cluster?
I have never messed with clusters before, I assume that there is no real way to work on one without mad micro electrician skills?

Thanks for your help

It's your cluster. Remove the cluster from the dash and tighten the screws behind the speedometer. If that doesn't fix it, it's time for a new speedometer.
