92 Honda civic mini me overheating problems!!!
Hello ht I have my 92 Honda civic hatch d15b/Z6 and since I did the head swap I've been having overheating issues..I've already replaced hoses, thermostat, radiator cap, pretty much everything but radiator and water pump. But my pump is not leaking. So I guess my question is should I replace the pump?? It only overheats when driving it could be sitting there and not over heat. Also my fan works I replaced the thermo temp sensor..Please help no bashing

Was the head gasket replaced during the head swap? And we're the head studs torqued properly? And was it a used head and if so was it measured for any warpage? With a head/gasket issue the idle can seem normal if it's a small leak, does the engine stumble under load? Kind of need more info, throwing parts doesn't substitute diagnostic procedures, and x2 about the water pump...even if it isn't the problem it's good preventative maintenance

Swapping the water pump is a good idea if you don't know the history of the pump but if it's pumping it's probably not related to the overheat just good maintenance to swap it every 144 Kilometers with your Honda timing belt.

Cometic gasket was used and installed properly with the side facing up and used copper spray on gasket. Head was machined and checked for warpage as well as block at the shop. Head was torqued in 2 step with final at 53lbs I believe the head gasket is good it was changed because I had high pressure in my hoses but that's not the issue any more now I can run it without blowing off hoses at higher rpms bit the problem is the overheating well on a load

Im still suspicious about the head, itd probably be a good idea to let it get to normal temp and do a compression test

Feel both upper and lower radiator hoses and make sure they're both hot. Also make sure that there is no dirt or debris on/infront of the radiator. Also make sure that radiator fans come as they should.
