92 Honda Civic Hatchback car dies
Hey I have a 92 Hatchback.
I inherited it from my brother.
It has some problems. I checked the:
-Spark Plugs
I've cleaned the:
-Air Filter
I've changed the:
-Valve Cover Gasket
Idk whats wrong.
It was fine when I got the car.
But today I drove into a parking spot it died. I then reversed and it died. I was in Drive and in the Burger King drive through and the car died while i was waiting. Idk what that translates too.
Anyone have any ideas to what I can do to solve the problem?
Thanks a lot!

The thingy that reads codes, reads CEL's. It shouldn't show anything if you don't have a CEL but it will at least confirm that you don't. I'd get whoever you can to help you with the car- whether they have code thingies or not.

Well before you go checking for codes, did the check engine light come on? And honestly you don't need any tool to scan for codes. There's a connector just above the ECU that you short and you'll see if there are any codes by looking at the check engine light. If there are codes and you jump that wire with the key on II position the check engine light will flash some sequences. Just count the flashes and write them down. You can look up what they mean in the FAQ.

checking for codes is a good idea. however most the time when ive had a pre obd2 car that just randomly dies, i never had codes.
i had a hatch that did the same thing. everything looked good, even compression test.
but a leakdown test showed differently.
turned out all the valves were slightly bent, just enough to make it die at idle, but not enough to hurt performance. it ran great, got good mileage, just wouldnt idle
