Re: 92 hatch overheating (Sasebonian)
Could be a few things
1. Air in the cooling system (not likely unless you recently had a cooling service)
2. Thermostat (go ahead and change it out its cheap and you prob need one anyway)
3. Waterpump
4. Clogged radiator (I experienced the same exact prob you were having and this fixed it for me)
5. Blown head gasket (check the color of the smoke coming out your tail pipe, if its white then you may have a problem, check your oil for water bubbles as well)

That's normal on any honda as old as yours especially if your running any kind of aftermarket programs on your ECU (black smoke=running rich(lots of fuel)). Check out your thermostat and radiator (I think you can have the system pressure tested).

Re: 92 hatch overheating (SirRevvs)
if it gets that hot within just a few minutes, thats bad,
I'd go with head gasket if it's the stock engine. The non vtec SOHC used a composite head gasket which fails really easy.
