92 Hatch Front End Damage/Repair

92 Hatch Front End Damage/Repair
So I just got my first Honda and loving it. Its a 92 white eg hatch with a b16 swap on coilovers and some konig's. Anyways, the E-Brake decided it didn't like me and failed and the car started off down a hill into a tree. Yipee.... The core support, bumper and hood are gone. I found a friend parting out a 95 coupe, and I know the 92-95 bodies are the same. So he cut from the motor mounts up for me for $40. I'm goin to order a new hood and bumper off ebay and get the hood professionally painted, and paint the bumper myself.
Anyways, I think the driver side frame got tweaked downwards towards the end, can I just cut off whats damaged and use what my friend gave me and weld it back on? In other words, from the front of the motor mount up.

I think your best bet is to try to straighten up the frame rail and just replace the core support.
Also, this is why you always park in first gear.

Anyways, the front of the car is completely torn apart. Found a guy parting out a civic, he cut in front of the motor mounts. Measured twice, cut once, welding it up tomorrow! Will post pics later

Wait, what? Wasn't the car facing downhill? Wouldn't you want the car in reverse if facing downhill? I hear some say still put in 1st always, but I don't get it.
Remember to turn the wheel the correct way on hills so it just rolls into the curb. But I understand we are lazy to do that stuff. And may be a hassle if you have no power steering.

It doesn't matter what direction the car is facing, put it in the lowest gear, either 1st or reverse. I don't like reverse as it it's easier for it to pop out of gear.

The hill wasn't even that steep of a hill, and I dont think it hit it at the speed it would have if the parking brake wasnt on at all. (If that makes sense). But shes almost all fixed now, gettin her welded up and back on the road.

If it wasn't a steep hill it wasn't in gear. I never used the parking brake in either of the two civics I had or the F-150 I'm driving now, unless you're on a pretty steep hill 1st gear will hold the car.

Well yeah, any car will roll on an incline, but it wasnt insanely steep. Anyways, got it welded on the frame rails and a few other spots. Fenders fit fine, hood latches half way but the hood is hittin the radiator so it wont close. Also. I have a huge gap on the driver side hood to fendder compared to the pass. Side. think I got a shitty front end and hood. Can anyone link a site for a front end diagram or somewhhere I can order the whole front end from the motor mounts up?

Re: 92 Hatch Front End Damage/Repair
So I've come up with a better plan.
Im gonna order a new hood and core support. Find a junkyard car and properly remove the core support from the frame rail. Cut the frame rail properly and straight where i need it and fix it all that way. With a new core support and hood, it should all fit snug. Just need to get the frame rails squared away.

Just curious, what car did the parts come off from? A coupe?
If the parts are OEM they should align nicely, unless the front end got tweaked a bit from the wreck or was just welded on a bit uneven .

The core support I got from the guy was from a coupe and is tweaked. Ordering a new one, and re fitting and welding the frame rails on.
