Default 92 Hatch Clutch Problems

Short story, drove the car home one night, got in it the next morning, clutch in/engine on, wouldn't go in gear. Checked fluid, all good. Jacked the car up (thought the clutch may be stuck to the flywheel due to wet roads. Dumped the clutch in 2nd and re bled the clutch. All was good, but not for long. Started to slowly get worse when shifting, and then back to being locked out.

Sounds to me like the master cylinder is bad, bought one and will install in the morning. Also ordered a clutch just in case that doesn't fix it. Just want a second opinion. Boot on the master cylinder is slightly damp, but nothing major.

Will report back after master cylinder install.

Could also be the slave cylinder. No leaks? Pedal spongy or drops to floor?

Fluid at top of clutch pedal?

Brand new slave cylinder. Master cylinder boot is slightly damp. Pedal is decent. With the pedal down, in 1st gear, starting the car moves the car. As if the clutch is not being disengaged when the pedal is depressed.

Yeah, replacing the MC should do the trick, after a thorough bleed.

I hope so, not in the mood for a clutch replacement! I just put the motor back in it! Is bench bleeding required or can I slip by without dealing with that?

I know my brake MC needed to be bench bled. Not sure about the clutch MC. If needed, it should be mentioned in the instructions that come with.

Okay, so I've still been battling with this on and off. Some days the clutch will work fine, some it's kinda iffy, and some days not at all. Like today for instance... Drove around town all day, went to work, got ready to leave work, no clutch. Wouldn't go in any gear with the car on. Started the car in 1st and it pulled itself forward and started just enough to rev match and get it home. Clutch in at 60 and still in 5th gear = no RPM changes at all. Time for a whole new clutch assembly?

Anyone had any luck with these?? If they aren't bad I'll get one, otherwise I'll go with an Exedy.

Okay another quick update! So like I said last night clutch was no good all the way home from work. Get in it this morning and still nothing. Pull it in the garage, check fluid, its fine, the slave cylinder is rusty looking, looks like a bit of brake fluid is making its way around the fitting... Paint is missing from the slave so I go in and pump the pedal for about 30 seconds, fire it up, and it acts perfectly normal... This is the 3rd slave cylinder... Or maybe the fitting is bad and leaking?
