92 eg build. slight build beast7, building 4th gen dohc zc
joined a while ago, had the car for a while. now starting my build thread.
got the car with the b7, i did a bit of work on that, and then picked up a 4th gen dohc zc from a friend for $50, and i am in the middle of building it for boost to drop it in my eg.
heres the car the first day i picked it up after 5 coats of polish and 2 coats of wax
cleaned the steelies
painted them black
steelies on the car
changed out the deck from my old car to this car
after the first month of driving this car, with the money in gas i saved i bought this alphawerks 4-1 stainless steel header $100

bay how i got the car, after i installed the header
rotors were warped really bad, so i picked up hawk pads, powerslot rotors, russel braided brake lines, and stock rebuilt calipers. $220
then i started having clutch issues. bad clutch MC, replacement was faulty, and clutch was chattering in first gear during downshift/engagement. bought quality made in japan slave and mc, tru lite 7lb $140 aluminum flywheel, and centerforce dual friction clutch $300 and braided clutch line $25
did a tune up, iridium plugs and msd wires. painted intake tube black. wires and plugs for free lol
cheapy rear upper strut bar $35

and plenum
skunk2 billet aluminum adj cam gear $140
exhaust runners sure opened up a lot
and then i polished them up a little
started assembling
then i had a vac leak from the manifold, wasnt completley torqued down on the middle nut on the bottom, snugged it up, and then corner one felt loose, so i snugged it up and went a little too tight, and it cracked

Re: 92 eg build. slight build beast7, building 4th gen dohc zc
can slightly see it in the coolent passage
friends step dad has it at the moment to weld it, its been quiet a while since i gave it too him. hope to get it back soon before i get this thing tuned before i drop the zc in as its running so rich it smokes grey/black.
then after all that, my buddy calls me and says $50 and alll the other miscalanious **** in his garage is mine or its going to the scrapper. SWEET! 4th gen DOHC ZC, spare dx trans, axels, wiring harness, flywheel, and zc manifold. sold the spare trans for $150
shampooing it down
he was running used chevron 15 40 dumb truck oil
my plans for the zc is to rebuild with forged internals, port/polish, bored cylinders by .5mm, mill head, run high comp z6 pistons, static 9.8ish :1 CR, and eventually down the road boost it.
started dismanteling

Nice build so far. One thing I would recommend if there is one of that engine is a timing belt cover. Don't want a rock getting logged in there and putting all that money to waste.

i have the bottom timing cover, it didn't come with the top most timing cover that covers the cam gears, but i dont think a rock will get lodged up there
