Default 92 dx 1.5... is this an interferance engine???

I was just wondering....if i didnt change my timing belt on my sohc 1.5 eg when it says i should.... and i continue to drive it and all of sudden one day the belt snaps......would the valves smash against the pistons..or is this one of those noninterference engines??...btw search is down... thx for your time..

yes it is...an intyerferance motor
valves would hit pistons if the belt snaped at a good speed

you can get a timing belt from an auto parts store for less than $30.that's cheap insurance that you won't be stranded.much cheaper than a a tow bill too.

thx for the info....i was just wondering because i use to be into dsms(talons, lasers, eclipses) and i knew the nonturbo 1.8's were non interferance engines.....if the belt snapped, not a problem because u could get another one for 20 bucks...just wondering if i might of had one also because it is only sohc.. but obviously the sohc has nothing to do with it........
