Default 92 civic si manual tranny oil?

when i pulled my tranny out i lost most my fluid. just curious what should i top it off with? i have 90w140 gear oil is that good? im asking because i ran this gear oil in my probe and it burned the tranny nasty and locked it up. the ford probe took auto tranny fluid in the manual tranny. so what would yall recroment? i just wanna put the cheapest in for now.

its a d16z6 motor with stock tranny.

No you can only get Honda MTF at a Honda or Acura dealership, or order it online. I'm using GM Synchromesh Friction Modified right now, it was about $15 per quart, but next time I'm using Honda MTF, it's much cheaper and it's what Honda calls for.

If you don't have access to Honda MTF, the recommended weight is 10w30, but don't get the really cheap store brand.

I'm Canadian, and we don't have Autozone

But I'm almost 100% certain they would not carry it. You need to get it from a Honda dealer.

90W140 is insanely thick, use either honda MTF or GM syncromesh like everyone is telling you or plain old 10W30 motor oil, which is what honda used to spec before they came up with their own fluid.

Yes, but atleast use a good brand synthetic. Also be advised that using regular oil will make the shifter feel different. It will feel more notchy like a Volkswagen.

Like I said above, though, Honda MTF or GM Synchromesh are best.

even with oil in it the trannys 3rd gear grinds a little and reverse grinds. so i dont think it could get worse lol. it drove it 6 miles and it shifts good but i know i need oil before i burn the syncros in it.

how about a mobil 1 full syntec 10w30?

Do not use 10w30 engine oil, synthetic or otherwise. The old owner's manuals that state it is okay to use such oil in the tranny do not account for industry-wide changes in engine oil chemistry. See http://honda.lioness.googlepages.com/manualtrannyfluid.

Also, given the longer life of OEM Honda MTF, it will save you money.

Not okay to use synthetic or non-synthetic motor oil in the tranny. It is not going to destroy it instantly, but it is going to be worse for tranny wear. See the writeup I linked.
