92 civic dx hesitates like crazy while driving
92 civic dx
So my problem is that the engine stalls/sputters/hesitate while I'm driving. The problem isn't consistant. It doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warm, it does it sometime on cold and sometimes not and same goes for when the engine is warm. It throws a code 1 off and on but the o2 sensor was changed the past summer. It jus gotten worst and worst and now when I drive it, it literally feels like the car dies and starts back up. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am having the same issue, not trying to thread jack. I have been looking up a lot of similar incidents and have found 2 different threads on the net where they resolved a similar bogging/hesitation problem at random speeds and while 60/80/100% throttle.. one person said it ran perfect after he/she replaced the fuel filter.. and I just got done reading another thread about someone have very similar problem and fixed it with a new Fuel pump. I am pretty sure my problem is stacked on top of having a bad cluster or some bad ground somewhere so it gets more complex on my end. I'll keep you posted if I find a fix. I will be checking more parts this weekend including the fuel pump and filter.
here is the link to the other thread where he fixed it with a new fuel pump.

It's either timing, random misfire from either plugs or wires might wanna check dizzy to and if that is all good like MrRogers21 might have something to due with fuel filter or pump

There are many possible reasons my dear friend . Some have been mentioned above by members and some may be as down under :-
1) You should check the fuel injection site, possibly there is a lot of carbon deposition out there.
2) Cleaning of the entire intake system, check for the throttle valve first.
3) Check for the clogged air filter, it might be as simple as this sometimes.
4) You can even check for spark plugs and also for spark plugs' wires, these wires could be the root cause of the problem.

Fuel filter was changed durin the summer, plugs was changed before winter and air filter was replaced before winter as well. I've checked timing and its spot on. I have been thinkin it has to be with fuel related. Its jus been too cold here in minnesota so I haven't been able to look more into it

Re: 92 civic dx hesitates like crazy while driving
So I've been driving the car with zero hiccups, BUT the drawback I realized compare to the other ecu I had is that now that car goes through gas like crazy. With the original ecu that caused the hesiation, it would get about 300miles on a full tank and with the other known good ecu it barely breaks 200miles on a full tank. Also with the known good ecu the car won't idle...but with the original ecu it would idle. Weird?
