Icon2 92 Civic dash lights don't work

I just bought a 1992 Honda civic for $450 (its not in the best condition). The lights on the entire dash are out and all the fuses are fine. The dimmer switch seems to still work and its not shorting anywhere. Cruise control doesn't engage but the switch is fine and the speedometer doesn't work for the first 3 minutes after the car starts. I was wondering if its possible for all the lights in the dash to be out at once and they never changed them or there is something i missed. Would it be my gauge cluster? all help and advice is welcome

Are we talking about the cluster and climate control lights? How do you know the dimmer switch is fine?

Do the taillights work? If so, jump the red wire to the black wire in the unplugged dimmer switch connector. Do the cluster/climate control lights now work?

My brothers 92 ex beater did the same. 3 dimmer switches and no changes. No blown fuses and we changed the cluster. All other lights in the car work fine. I believe its a ground issue but checked those too.

all lights went dark(dome, warning, headlights, tail, clearance) the engine wouldn't turn over and i wasn't receiving any power for about 15 minutes. waited and it started fine, just the same problem as before. @ 92civiceg9gsr any idea where it was grounded on your brother car?

My car has a similar issue. My issue is a problem with the headlight switch. I have to have it in the right spot, sort of play with it while the head lights are on and then tap the dimmer switch until the lights come on. The issue with your speedometer I would say could be with the VSS or the cluster itself.
