92 civic d15b oil problem

Default 92 civic d15b oil problem

my motor burns alot of oil, ive checked the timing, done compression test , everything seemed ok i dont know were to go from here, someone told me the piston rings, but do i have to do the sleeves as well? any info would be greatly appreciated

leak down tests aint a joke, to do one correctly you need the tester and the knowhow to do it correctly. the test is not that expensive $100-$120 cheaper if you know someone. the way your talking it sounds like rings, but the test will tell for sure. (cheating way to do it is get a spark pluck hole air hose hookup, shoot your cylinders. if any shoot air to the oil pan its rings.)

Could be valve seals, I know my buddies B18A1 was doing the same thing and we replaced the valve seals...and sha-bam no oil leak...but yeah leak-down good investment...just to see.
