92 civic clutch pedal problem!
i have a 92 civic cx (im sure the model doesn't matter) & every time i step on the clutch pedal there is no pressure. i changed out the master & slave cylinder but the problem still continues. the car is un-driveable & i'm assuming that the pressure plate is gone & i have to replace the complete clutch kit. any ideas?

stupid question... did you try bleeding the clutch lines again? you may have not got all the air out from the cylinder replacments

Describe your exact symptoms. When you step on the clutch, is there resistance in the pedal? More or less than usual? Does the clutch disengage? Engage? While driving? While stopped?
Give us some more info to work with.

Re: 92 civic clutch pedal problem!
sorry for the vague description. it all started when i was coming home from school & i realized the clutch pedal was losing pressure & began engaging a little early, so i stopped by autozone assuming there was a lack of fluids. i refilled it & tried to pump the pressure back but nothing. matter of fact, it got worse & the clutch lost all pressure & stopped engaging at all. then i switched out the slave & bled the system numerous times & still nothing. so now the car sits because the clutch won't engage for me to start the car.

It's very important to keep the bleed hose immersed in fluid otherwise air will be drawn back into the system. The $4 One Man Brake Bleed tool allows one person to do this easily.

ok, so you said that it wont start because of this? so even though the clutch peddle is down, it acts like it not? is that correct?

Is there any force back from the clutch return spring on the pedal? Also, the clutch return spring in the tranny, behind the clutch fork is VERY flimsy. Or pressure plate. All feel about the same...

Get a friend to push the clutch pedal while you watch the slave cylinder to see if it moves,if not it is most likely your master cylinder that is giving you the problem, did you bench bleed the master before you fitted it?

no, he said its acting like hes not pushing the clutch in, so obvously the clutch still holds agenst the flywheel and pressure plate... if the car wasnt pulling, then i would say its the clutch disk and plate

when i bled the lines it was flowing smoothly & there seems to be some minor pressure now (maybe i never noticed) but the clutch pedal still won't engage (it won't push all the way to the ground) but there is some resistance.

This recently happened to me. Make sure your brake fluid is up to level and pump the **** out of your clutch with your hand, like 50-100 times so the lines can fill up. Then to do the bleeding process about 5-10 times.

Re: 92 civic clutch pedal problem!
I recently had my clutch replaced after it would not disengage, but I had a lot of pressure left in the pedal.
How many miles are on the clutch? Do you rest your foot on the clutch pedal while driving? Do you drive the car hard?
